Send up to 6 GB for free with no account

Several well-known transfer tools stop their free tier at 2 GB or 3 GB. Here, a free transfer holds up to 6 GB with no account on either side.

Why 6 GB free matters for video, photo, and archive handoffs

A single 4K video export, a multi-camera interview reel, or a zipped design archive often lands between 3.2 GB and 6 GB. On 23 October 2026 WeTransfer’s help pages stated 3 GB on the free tier and required a free account to send. Dropbox Transfer’s help article listed 2 GB on Dropbox Basic. TransferNow and Filemail both listed a smaller free ceiling on their support pages, meaning a 6 GB archive misses their free cutoff.

On SendToAnyone, the free ceiling is 6 GB per transfer, counted as 6,000,000,000 decimal bytes across all files you add to that transfer. You do not create an account to upload, and the recipient does not create an account to download. You open the home page in your browser, drop up to 6 GB of files, pick how long the link stays open, and copy the download URL.

How the upload, password, and expiry work

Files larger than 8 MB upload in 16 MB multipart chunks directly from the browser. If your connection drops mid-upload, chunks already stored can be resumed from the same browser session without starting from zero. The uploader stores the exact bytes you selected without transcoding video or compressing images.

A password encrypts the files before they leave the browser. It is not in the email. A link without a password keeps the key in the link. We cannot read those files. You can set the free link to expire after 1 hour, 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days. Once that timer runs out, downloads stop and scheduled cleanup deletes the stored objects from global cloud storage.

When your transfer passes 6 GB

If a folder of clips adds up to 7 GB or 8 GB and you want to stay on the free tier, split the folder into two separate transfers under 6 GB each and label them Part 1 and Part 2. When you need to send a single unbroken file over 6 GB, Creator raises one transfer to 50 GB and 30 days for ₹299 or $3.99 monthly or ₹3,199 or $39.99 yearly. A Pass covers one 100 GB transfer for 30 days at ₹199 or $2.49. Pro covers 250 GB per transfer and 1 year for ₹999 or $10.99 monthly or ₹10,499 or $109.99 yearly, after the server confirms payment.

Team checkout is not open, and Studio and Business say Contact sales on the pricing page. There is no choice of an EU storage region. An independent operator based in India runs the service, and it is not yet certified. The upload scan checks the file name and the first few kilobytes before encryption and cannot detect every kind of malware.

Questions

Is a 6 GB file really free to send?

Yes, as long as the total transfer is at or below 6,000,000,000 bytes (6 GB decimal). Neither you nor the recipient needs an account.

Why did my 5.8 GiB file say it exceeds 6 GB?

Some operating systems display binary gibibytes (GiB), where 5.8 GiB is about 6.22 billion bytes. The server enforces 6,000,000,000 decimal bytes.

Does the free tier include password encryption?

Yes. A password encrypts the files in the browser before upload and is never included in the notification email.

Can I extend a free link past 7 days?

No. Seven days is the longest free expiry. Creator offers 30 days and Pro offers 1 year after payment is confirmed.
