How browser folder selection works here
When you need to hand off 40 campaign stills, a bundle of invoices, or a set of video exports, you do not have to pick files one by one. On the home page, click Select Folder and choose the directory on your computer. The browser adds the files inside that folder to your transfer queue and checks that the combined total fits your plan.
On the free tier, the combined size of all files in the transfer can be up to 6 GB (6,000,000,000 bytes). Note one important technical detail: Select Folder stores each file by its name in the transfer list rather than rebuilding a multi-level nested subfolder tree on the recipient’s disk. If your project relies on deep subfolder paths (such as a code repo or an After Effects project with linked footage folders), compress the directory into a `.zip` file first and upload that `.zip`.
Why a temporary transfer link beats a shared cloud folder
Sharing a folder in Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox works well when your internal team edits the same documents every week. It creates friction when you only want to deliver finished files to an outside client: recipients hit login screens, ask for edit permissions by mistake, or leave gigabytes sitting in your storage quota months after the job is done.
A SendToAnyone link is a clean one-way handoff. Neither you nor the recipient signs in on the free plan. You choose 1 hour, 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days, and when the timer expires, the link closes and scheduled cleanup deletes the files from global cloud storage. A password encrypts the files before they leave the browser. It is not in the email. A link without a password keeps the key in the link. We cannot read those files.
Folders over 6 GB and honest limits
If a folder totals more than 6 GB, you can split it into two or more free transfers or use a paid plan after payment is confirmed. Creator holds 50 GB per transfer and 200 GB stored for 30 days at ₹299 or $3.99 monthly or ₹3,199 or $39.99 yearly. A Pass holds one 100 GB transfer for 30 days at ₹199 or $2.49. Pro holds 250 GB per transfer and 1,000 GB stored for 1 year at ₹999 or $10.99 monthly or ₹10,499 or $109.99 yearly.
Team checkout is not open, and Studio and Business say Contact sales on the pricing page. There is no EU storage region picker. An independent operator based in India runs the service, and it is not yet certified. The upload scan checks file names and the first few kilobytes before encryption and cannot catch every unwanted file.

Does Select Folder keep nested subfolder structures?
Select Folder adds the files inside the folder and stores each file by name. If your recipient needs nested subdirectories rebuilt exactly as on your disk, zip the folder before uploading.
Is the 6 GB free limit per file or for the whole folder?
It is the combined total for the entire transfer (6,000,000,000 bytes).
Can other people add files into my shared folder link?
No. A download link is read-only. To collect files from other people, create a request link on the receive page.
Do I have to remember to delete the folder later?
No. The transfer expires automatically after the time you selected (up to 7 days on free) and is deleted by scheduled cleanup.
